Specifications include, but are not limited to: Lincoln County School District (LCSD) is preparing to enter into a contract to have our core data and data services managed by Ednetics. It's the school district's intent to start this service provided by Ednetics by August 1, 2020, barring any issues. The sole source justification applied to the contracting of this service is driven by the need to have a compatible service provider. The efficient utilization of existing Ednetics services requires the acquisition of compatible services from only one source for management of our data center backups, recovery, and disaster recovery preparation. Ednetics is LCSD's network management administrator. This service contract was awarded via the competitive sourcing approach governed by the Federal FCC E-rate rules. This particular service and project management are required because of the integration of services that would be achieved with the current network managed services contract. The Ednetics backup and recovery service provides LCSD with everything necessary to protect our data from technical and natural disasters. This service contributes to a more robust Cybersecurity plan. Ednetics' solution includes on-premise and cloud-based resources to provide secure data replication across multiple locations. Backups are performed automatically while maintaining integrity, privacy, and compliance. Flexible retention policies allow for maximum efficiency without sacrificing day-to-day access and usability. The Ednetics Service Team will deploy, manage, and monitor all backup and recovery systems delivering an end-to-end solution that safeguards critical data across your entire organization. Findings: There is efficient utilization of existing products (managed network management service) that makes this the most compatible service. The compatibility of services is only available from this one source. There are offsite backup services provided by a number of different vendors. An example is Amazon's Web Management Services. VEEAM is a vender that provides the means, but not the compatible service as the Ednetics contract offers. Market Research Overall Finding: Research of the internet, trade journals and shows, professional organization inquires and more has not produced any other service that meets the compatibility standard needed in this situation. The Ednetics E-rate contract drives the need for compatible data management service. The integration of network management and data center management is a unique opportunity and really can only be completed by one sole-source service provider.
