A. Commissioning is a systematic process of ensuring that building systems perform interactively according to the design intent and the owner’s operational needs. This is achieved by beginning in the design phase and documenting design intent and continuing through construction, acceptance and the warranty period with actual verification of performance. The scope of commissioning for the project shall encompass and coordinate the traditionally separate functions of system documentation, equipment startup, control system calibration, testing and balancing, performance testing. B. Commissioning during the construction phase is intended to achieve the following specific objectives according to the Contract Documents: 1. Verify that applicable equipment and systems are installed according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and that they receive adequate operational checkout by installing contractors. 2. Verify and document proper performance of equipment and systems.
