The central production kitchen project requires an full renovation and expansion of the current catering kitchen and nutrition services office and warehouse. The purpose of this project is to provide a full production kitchen capable of producing up to 13,000 meals per day with capacity to expand in the future. The new space will also include a cafeteria, offices and food storage area. The District is currently under contract for a feasibility study with initial drawings and an estimate level package. The report of this design effort will be available for use beginning in the Schematic Design process. Because of this the designs must address the following issues: • AHJ code and health requirements and regulations • Electrical service new vs connecting to existing full site transfer generator service. • Fire protection and Sanitary Sewer • HVAC for hoods, exhaust fans and makeup air • Freezer and Cooler walk in design and equipment location • Kitchen equipment selection and layout
