Specifications include, but are not limited to: 12.1. While the anticipated months of service are March through November, the start and end months may vary depending on weather and site conditions. Each area shall be serviced completely at the specified frequency during the months that services are utilized. 12.2. Each area shall be serviced on an as needed basis, on average, every fourteen (14) days. 12.3. Each area shall be serviced completely within 24 hours of being mowed, if the area is designated to be mowed. 12.4. Maintain bed areas free of weeds, volunteer tree seedlings, trash, and other litter. 12.5. Spreading type plants should be pruned to avoid overhanging onto street, sidewalk, or parking area. 12.6. Maintain coloratus to a maximum height of 4”. 12.7. Remove any dead plant material, except for trees. 12.8. Cut back ornamental grasses, roses, sedum, coneflower and similar perennials during the first service month of the year. 12.9. Remove any plant material, dirt, or other debris that has collected along the median curbs. 12.10. Maintain tree wells free of weeds and grass. 12.11. The contractor is responsible for selecting the weed control method or methods to meet the required results. Removal by hand or hand-tool, spot spraying with herbicide, and treating with pre-emergent are acceptable methods of weed control. The contractor must select a weed removal method that will not damage the irrigation system within the beds to be maintained. Any other method shall be approved by the City’s representative prior to use. 12.12. Kill any vegetation growing up through the brick, concrete, or stamped concrete throughout the median. 12.13. For Streetscape Areas: Kill any weeds growing up through or around sidewalk areas, pavers, curbs and gutters, to include all areas between curb and building. 13. Time and Materials: Provide per hour labor rates to perform the following services as related to general landscape maintenance. Most of these services may be completed at the time of the regular site visit. It shall be the duty of the contractor to provide a quote of materials cost for authorization prior to installation. Any necessary materials provided by the contractor shall be billed at actual cost. The necessary materials may be provided to the contractor by the City at the City’s discretion. 1.
