This proposed contract Is for 2.6 miles of road maintenance and repairs and 540 tons of gravel to maintain roads on Cookson WMA. On all sections listed below, a dozer and track hoe will be used to reshape roadway, manage water flow with a road crown, create water turnouts, and use other techniques as needed. Specific work in each listed section will be as follows: • Section A- 0.5 miles. Remove timber 15' beyond edge of existing roadbed. Section has ruts and mud holes. On the 0.2 miles of hill, the roadbed is below elevation of adjacent land with 2' deep washouts and some rock sizes near 3' diameter. Create a roadbed that will allow bobtails dumptrucks to access the remainder of the project. Substrate is generally small sandstone and clay soil. • Section B- 0.5 miles. Section B has no elevation change, no exposed rock. Current roadbed is smooth and mostly covered/stabilized with grasses but lacks water flow management. Substrate is clay soil. • Section C- 0.4 miles. Pull needed fill material out of existing roadway corridor to cover large rocks and washouts. Remove large rocks. reshape roadway. Reshape steep clay-soiled hill. Section C is very rough, with large limestone bedrock outcroppings along a slight hill and a short, steep hill with thick clay soils. • Section D- 1.2 miles. Primarily address drainage issues. Remove or cover some sections of exposed rock. Some areas of mudholes/rutting. Minor elevation changes on 0.3ml. Substrate is generally small sandstone and clay soils. • Deliver 540 tons of crusher-run gravel (100 tons or 3" and 44 tons of 1.5") to use on above sections of road in the most appropriate locations and spread with dozer and/or motor-patrol, all as directed by ODWC personnel.
