Evaluate size, capacity and location of proposed improvements and make recommendations concerning the work to be completed. Where warranted for the specific project, perform preliminary design survey in sufficient detail to permit completion of the preliminary design report. Where warranted for the specific project, a final survey will be completed once the alignment has been selected. Determine land acquisition needs and all required permitsfor the proposed design. The Consultant should place high priority on techniques to minimize the need for additional permanent easement and reducing the amount of disruption to surrounding residents and businesses. If needed to avoid a significant obstacle or reduce overall footage of construction, Consultant may suggest realignments to reduce project cost or improve design.
