Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Cherokee Nation is seeking statements of qualifications from qualified engineering firms for the development of a network broadband system to serve the Cherokee Nation reservation. Cherokee Nation is proposing engineering and deployment of broadband infrastructure on its reservation lands that includes middle-mile and last-mile networks to serve currently unserved communities. Cherokee Nation’s comprehensive broadband feasibility study focused on Cherokee Nation’s community centers that are often the focal point of communities where generations of Cherokee families have called home and where the language and culture still thrives. This proposal is to launch Cherokee Nation on a path of broadband independence, where citizens have access to a future-proof network that provides them with affordable, reliable connectivity. This new deployment of infrastructure will utilize commercial grade equipment that capitalizes on the Cherokee Nation’s available 2.5GHz spectrum, once that application is granted through the Federal Communications Commission.
