Seasonal and Daily Operations of the Aquatic Center: Contractor will use reasonable care and diligence to provide the following services for the actual operation of the Aquatic Center. • Minimum of 10 lifeguards on deck at all times with at least one “head guard” stationed outside guard office during general open swim times. • Make sure guards have proper rotation with breaks that may need to increase during high temperature days. We prefer a 15 minute “safety break” every 2 hours. • Two guards must be elevated in the chairs provided: one at the zero depth entry and the north end of the lap pool. Other guards should be placed at north side of the climbing wall, one on the chair on the south end of the lap pool, one in the catch pool, one at the top of the slides, one on the NW side of the play structure, one on the south end of the play structure, and guard in the middle of the vortex area and the last guard by the vortex exit and walk area to the south. • Keep lifeguard umbrellas down on windy days • Complete a daily opening/closing (written) checklist document that includes safety checks of entire complex, concession eating area, including leisure attractions, i.e., slides, play equipment, and any water features. • Check and test all safety equipment. • Clean the entire complex, including guard and manager’s office areas, concession stand, pump room, all swimming areas, restrooms, and the premises within the fenced area of the aquatic center. This cleaning is to also to be performed daily. • Provide all necessary chemicals to maintain swimming facility per requirements of local health department. • Enforce all rules and regulations stipulated by the City and suggest and advice regarding additional rules and regulations for the operation of the pool. • A daily log for all operations areas of the swimming facilities will be kept.
