Specifications include, but are not limited to:The Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) is requesting proposals for the supply and installation of asphalt pavement in the area of the Security Additions at the Grand River Energy Center (GREC). This work is to support an upgrade to the existing Unit 2 and construction of a new Unit 3. The planned work will require a new construction area parking lot and modifications to the south entrance gate to the GREC. Installation of the pavement furnished under this Contract is scheduled to occur in the spring of 2015. This Request for Proposal is intended to result in selection of a Contractor to perform the Work described herein. The Work of the Contract includes furnishing all required equipment, materials, labor, and incidentals required to furnish and install the specified asphalt concrete pavement at the new parking lot and in the area of the modified Site South Entrance. The Work included in this Contract will be performed at the GRDA Grand River Energy Center, located 35 miles east of Tulsa, Oklahoma, on U.S. Highway 412. Compacted fill and crushed stone base for a new permanent construction parking lot near the south entrance to the GREC will be installed by others. In addition, modifications will be made by others to the south entrance road and the fencing and gates at the south entrance which will require additional pavement and repairs to existing pavement. The material and services included in the scope of this Contract are intended to be incorporated with the new parking lot and modified entrance to improve personnel and vehicle access control into the secure areas of the plant. The crushed stone base to receive the asphalt pavement will have been in use for some time prior to the start of paving. Included in the scope of this contract are the repair, compaction, and final fine-grading of the existing base surface necessary to result in a sound base for installation of the asphalt pavement. GENERAL PROJECT SCOPE The Contractor's bid, including all required bonds, shall be based on the lump sum price for the following: 1. Furnishing of all materials, labor, and equipment required for final base preparation and asphalt concrete pavement in the parking lot and South Site Entrance area as detailed in these specifications. 2. The Contractor's bid shall include the unit prices for additional crushed rock surfacing and pavement for additions and deductions as specified in the Rate Quotation Sheet herein. These unit prices shall be an all-inclusive rate for labor, supervision, tooling, overhead, profit, safety equipment, and consumables.
