Specifications include, but are not limited to:The City of Canton (“the City”) is accepting Statements of Qualifications to obtain Construction Engineering Services including Construction Inspection and Construction Administration services for the construction of the 12th Street NW Bridges Replacement Project with roadway alignment and roadway reconstruction. The services include Construction Contract Administration Services for the Canton City Engineering Department. The focus of this project is the roadway realignment and roadway reconstruction of 12th Street from Interstate Route 77 to Monuments Road NW and the replacement of the city-owned bridge over the Raceway (SF# 7661215) which was built in 1928 and is rated to be in fair condition, replacement of the county-owned bridge over the West Branch of the Nimishillen Creek (SF# 7631324) which was built in 1929 and is rated to be in poor condition with a sufficiency rating of 44.2SD. Given the heavy pedestrian traffic in this area resulting from the adjacent parks and the students walking to Lehman Middle School west of the bridges, both bridges will have sidewalks. The county bridge will be constructed to allow the city/county bike trail to run under the bridge along the south abutment. This will reduce the amount of pedestrians/bicyclists crossing the busy 12th St Corridor. Because these bridges are in a city park, are on a designated canton gateway corridor, and on a designated scenic canal byway, the bridges and approached will include aesthetic features such as concrete form liners, decorative guardrail, lighting, and other cityscape elements as required by ordinance. The project is funded with federal, state, and local funds
