Specifications include, but are not limited to: INSTALLATION & REPAIR OF RECREATION AREA TRAILS & GOLF CART PATHS. 1. This specification covers the installation of recreation area trails and golf cart paths in addition to any asphalt repairs in parking lots and driveways for the Cincinnati Recreation Commission (CRC) golf courses. The work shall be in accordance with the 2016 Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) Construction and Material Specifications. The remainder of information and specifications included hereafter are to supplement or specify anything that may be excluded from the ODOT specifications. 2. This work includes the installation of recreation area trails and golf cart paths in addition to asphalt repairs on parking lots and driveways at golf course locations both inside and outside the corporate limits of the City of Cincinnati, but within the service limits of the CRC. 3. The contract entails different labor rates and prices for material overhead and profit. The Contractor will be paid in accordance with the different labor rates and for material overhead and profit for the combined total for the entire project or location. 4. The estimated quantities in the bid form are for bidding purposes only. The City makes no guarantee that orders will be placed for more or less than the bid quantities. 5. The Contractor may be required to perform work under this contract on an emergency basis, of specialty materials not otherwise specified, or under other unusual circumstances. To the extent possible and prudent, the bid unit prices will be applied; however, the City may elect to direct the Contractor to perform such work under the terms of ODOT 109.05. 6. The Contractor shall take all reasonable measures to protect completed work until the work is completed. Contractor is to use cones, ribbons, signs, flags, or other effective methods to ensure that construction boundaries are highly visible and prevent patrons from access to the affected areas until ready for use. All damage that results from negligence by the Contractor shall be subject to payment of damages to be determined by the City.
