Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.2.1 The antifreeze shall be used year-round in GCRTA city transit coaches and service vehicles equipped with Cummins, Caterpillar, Navistar, Detroit Diesel, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Duramax heavy-duty Diesel engines and OEM gasoline engines. The antifreeze shall be compliant to the latest revisions of Cummins Engine standard 14603, Detroit Diesel antifreeze requirements 7SE298, ASTM Standard D6210 as a minimum. The use of the antifreeze by the GCRTA shall not void the warranty of any engine manufacturer. The bidder/contractor may be required to provide proof of compliance. 4.2.2 The antifreeze provided shall be complete and ready for installation. An initial installation of the antifreeze to an empty cooling system shall not require the addition of any additional components. 4.2.3 The antifreeze shall be fully formulated (SCA precharged) and not require additional SCAs to be added at initial installation. 4.2.4 The antifreeze shall be pre-diluted (pre-mixed) with de-ionized (distilled) water and not require the addition of water at an initial installation. Dilution with the addition of tap water is not acceptable. 4.2.5 The antifreeze shall provide corrosion protection, lower the freezing point, decrease vapor pressure, and raise the boiling point.
