Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2.1 DESIGN, TYPE, SIZE AND CAPACITY In accordance with drawings and/or details specified. 2.2 CONSTRUCTION Welded with understructure welded to shell. Welds present a firm bond between parent metals and free of scale. 2.3 METAL Unless otherwise specified, low alloy high tensile steel Grade 50 in accordance with ASTM A607. Steel gauges specified are U.S. steel gauges and are minimums. 2.4 CONTROLS Conveniently located where specified or required for proper and efficient operation. 2.5 POWER TAKE OFF Install where specified or required for proper operation. Equipped with antifriction bearings on all shafts. Preferred maximum length of drive shaft from power take off to pump 36 inches. Any shaft exceeding 36 inches must be approved by Fleet Services Manager or his/her designee prior to supplying the vehicle. 2.6 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM Install necessary hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, piping, tubing and connectors. All fluid reservoirs shall have shut off valve to prevent draining during servicing. An exception to this may be allowed in those installations where the valve would serve no useful purpose. Vendor must submit request to omit this valve as an option in bid submittal, for review by Fleet Services. 2.7 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Exposed wiring run through loom or vinyl taped in accordance with best commercial practice.
