Specifications include, but are not limited to: Saw cut and remove material from each basin’s 5 ft x 8 ft “Box Out” area. • Remove all basin structure down to a solid course • Notify City of Mentor if a “casting” is bad. The City of Mentor will provide a replacement casting. • Rebuild basin up to required level. Note: The contractor must use “Hard Red” sewer or manhole brick, ASTM C-32, grade M.S. Note: Haydite / Concrete brick will not be permitted. • Apply a parge coat, Type “S” before setting the casting. • Set casting and form the area • Remove undesirable, soft sub-grade soil • Drill and install 1” diameter epoxy coated dowel pins in accordance with the basin detail provided. • Install #6 “Road Mesh” in “Box out” area. • Install rubber expansion joint (fiber will not be permitted), along all sidewalk or drive apron areas only, before inspection and pouring. • Contact the City of Mentor Public Works Department (440) 974-5781 for inspection prior to pouring medium set (MS) concrete at a minimum depth of 8 inches. • After 24 hours, saw cut relief joints in new concrete, blow out debris and then crack seal all joints
