Installing water meters and programming the AMI endpoint. The work will include the labor to remove the old meter, transfer the brass hand wheel from the old meter to the new meter and then install the new water meter, connect the wires to the endpoint and then program the new meter to the AMI endpoint. The programming will involve using the utility’s mobile programmer to transfer the old meter information to the new meter information through the Aclara AMI software. All meters are 5/8” x ¾" water meters in a residential water meter pit. This work will also include replacing the rubber gaskets in the angle valve and hand wheel. After installation is complete, the meter removed from a customer’s site shall be tagged with the following information: date, address, final reading, and initials of the technician. The removed meter shall be placed back in the new meter’s shipping box. Once the shipping box is full, the box must be labeled with the date range of meters exchanged, as well as installer initials. Removed meter boxes shall be returned to the Underground Utilities Department and stored in a designated area. All other removed materials must be brought back to the Underground Utilities Department for final disposal.
