1. Removal and disposal of all exterior wire protective frames covering windows. (Contractor has the option of disposing of exterior metal wire at the City Public Works facility. The metal recycling bin should be used for placement of metal wire.) 2. Removal and disposal of existing wood exterior paint on proposed surfaces to be painted. Existing paint is presumed lead based and will require adherence to all State, Federal or other current regulations for proper removal and disposal. 3. Contractor shall provide records for disposal of lead paint to City demonstrating disposal is current to Federal, State and City standards. 4. Carefully inspect all wood for rot or insect damage. Record the location and Type, 1 – 3, of recommended repairs. The City will determine the appropriate contingency allowance Type to draw from. 5. Window glass repair: Clear/non-tinted, single strength, 1/8” thick, B or better grade. 6. Glazing repair: Sterling oil-based glazing compound, or approved equal. 7. Repair and seal all exposed wood exterior surface to be painted. 8. Prime one (1) coat to all bare wood surfaces to be painted. 9. Caulking on all window perimeters as required for complete sealing of water intrusion. 10. Paint two (2) coats all exterior wood doors and frames. 11. All wood windows shall be operational upon completion of proposed work.
