Toledo Public Schools is seeking proposals for an In School Success (ISS) Program to be implemented for the 2025-2026 school year. This program will be available for all students K-8, both general education and special education. The goal of this program is to provide schools with a menu of behavioral supports for students so that students can succeed in their educational environment. This program will utilize a professional who is mobile within the school building, providing a wide range of school and student support throughout the school day as determined by the School Core Team. Partners will be asked to provide the range of behavior supports identified in the three service areas below. The School Core Team and other school leadership will review individual and school-wide data regularly to determine the appropriate complement of supports for the specific school. For all service areas, partners are expected to: ● utilize evidence-based social emotional learning curriculum and best practices that promote social emotional growth; ● document and monitor student attendance and participation; ● participate in ongoing professional development. Full day classroom setting (traditional alternatives to suspension model) ● Full day can be used for 4th-8th grade general education and special education students, with IEP accommodations as needed ● Half day can be used for special education students with IEP accommodations as needed ● Limited number of consecutive days students can be assigned Take a Break classroom setting ● All students grades K-8 can be assigned to A2S for a break for no more than 1 hour per day this can be done the day of the incident or the following day ● Based on capacity limitations of partner provider not to exceed 12 students (total in a classroom at one time) ● Take a Break can be used both proactively and reactively as needed Student/School Behavior Support setting (SSBS) ● All students grades K-8 ● Mentoring ● De-escalation ● Take a Break ● Time outs with a behavior modification conversation/reflection sheet/follow up(short term with goal of returning to the classroom) ● Mobile and able to provide support on demand (flexibility) ● Cafeteria and hallway presences ● Academic and attendance support ● Goal setting follow up
