The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services is looking to purchase 20 RealCare Geriatric Simulator Kits for distribution. This Geriatric Simulation Suit must have several unique characteristics and features: A wearable weight-vest (one-size-fits-all) simulates declining mobility, fatigue, stooped posture and osteoporosis. The elbow and knee restraints simulate decreased range of motion as do the ankle and wrist weights. Common conditions of aging are included such: six different visual impairments (glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy); loss of sensation in hands; joint stiffness; loss of strength; decrease sense of balance and confusion.
