Project Description The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department is seeking quotes for pond management services to be implemented at the six ponds outlined above. The contracted vendor will be expected to implement a best management strategy to create a well-balanced pond ecosystem. The plan will include the management of filamentous algae and nuisance, submersed vegetation. Service and evaluations will be performed bi-weekly starting on April 1, 2025 and ending on October 25, 2025. A total of 15 service/evaluations per pond will be completed during this time period. The evaluations will determine a treatment plan that will be implemented while onsite. The contractor will be expected to choose safe and effective products that will create a well-balanced pond ecosystem and not negatively impact desirable pond flora and fauna. During each service the contractor will be expected to remove and dispose of up to 50 pounds of pond and shoreline trash and natural debris and clear overflow drains. Summary of Work • Evaluate the condition of each pond (outlined above) on a bi-weekly basis starting on 4/1/2025, performing a total of 15 evaluations that end on 10/25/2025. • Treat ponds as needed per evaluation results. Chemical applications must be eco-friendly. • In May and August of 2025 water quality tests will be performed at all six ponds. Testing water temperature, PH, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphorus levels, nitrogen and hardness. A summary report will be sent to CRPD Parks Manager – dastearns@columbus.gov • Perform a seasonal long application of MuckBiotic Probiotic Bacteria for each of the six ponds. Following the product label to determine the application rate and frequency. Bidder to include application plan within bid submission. • Remove up to 50 pounds of man-made and natural debris from pond, shoreline, and drains at each pond during each bi-weekly service. • Send a bi-weekly report outlining the evaluation and work performed by email to the CRPD parks manager. Once per month, send a copy of the licensed applicators treatment records to the CRPD parks manager- dastearns@columbus.gov • Report any major pond concerns not associated with this contract to parks manager within 24 hours.
