1) Hours of coverage: twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days per week. 2) Company must provide an operable, marked vehicle that is available to the guard 24/7. 3) Guard will be stationed in the guard booth for the majority of the shift. However, the guard is expected to make periodic patrols of the stadium parking lot both on foot, and in a marked security vehicle once every hour. This will be documented in the detailed activity log with date, time and a description of the patrol. 4) Guard must keep a detailed log of activities. 5) One (1) guard per shift only. 6) Guard must have a valid driver’s license. Guard must maintain a valid driver’s license throughout the duration of the contract. 7) Guard must be in uniform. 8) Guard must be unarmed. Weapon storage not permitted in personal or company vehicles while on duty. 9) Guard must have a cellular telephone to contact the University Police Department immediately whenever necessary. 10) Guard is responsible for providing visibility in the parking lot(s) and serving as a deterrent to criminal activity. 11) Guard is responsible for reporting suspicious activity to the University Police Department. Guards are not responsible for criminal enforcement. 12) Guard may be responsible for locking and unlocking parking lot gates at the stadium, as well as other parking lots, as directed. 13) Guard must contact the University Police Department when arriving on duty and when securing for the night. 14) Guard may be required to provide motorist assistance (unlocks and jump starts). 15) Weekly report to be submitted to Parking Services (to include the staff that worked the prior week and the shifts, any documented activity, copies of all motorist assistance waivers, etc.) 16) References must be provided: the university desires to contract with a company with a good reputation and history. 17) Company must provide a list of all of its employees working on campus, and provide proof that all employees who will be working on Kent State University property have been properly screened and have passed background checks. Employees would be considered eligible to work on Kent State University property if their background checks are free of any criminal activity. 18) The university may occasionally request guards to patrol other parking lots beyond the stadium. 19) Coverage to start Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 8:00 AM. and run through 8:00 PM Saturday, May 9, 2026, excluding four (4) weeks during the Winter Break (Mid-December to early January: Exact dates will be provided to winning bidder when available).
