Specifications include, but are not limited to: Duties of the contract chaplain include conducting weekly non-denominational services, faith studies, and providing general pastoral care for the incarcerated population at DCI. In fulfillment of these duties the contract chaplain will complete the following activities: • Conduct weekly Protestant Christian worship services • Provide religious study or education classes • Provide general pastoral care to the incarcerated population, which may include consultation concerning religious issues, grief care, crisis pastoral counseling, funeral services, pastor visitation with individuals in specialized housing (infirmary, segregation, etc.), and other duties as indicated. • Attend annual Religious Service Meeting (mandatory event – $75 yearly compensation for attendance will be granted as required per contract) • Make referrals for incarcerated people to appropriate services (medical, mental health, recovery services etc.) • Distribute religious literature and/or conduct religious programs • Assist DRC Chaplain in appropriate duties and/or conducting of religious programs at The institution, including medical facilities • Complete a monthly report form on services provided to be submitted to the Deputy Warden of Special Services and the DRC Religious Services Administrator, Operations Support Center no later than the 5th of the following month. • Perform holiday services (i.e. Easter and Christmas).
