Specifications include, but are not limited to: The selected Offeror shall provide different types and sizes of oral, injectable, and topical pharmaceuticals to the Cincinnati Health Department Central Pharmacy. The CHD Pharmacies require the services of pharmaceutical wholesalers that can supply the estimated 420 items on our drug formulary in a timely manner with a minimum of backorders. Additions and deletions to the drug formulary can occur at any time, depending on the actions of the Cincinnati Health Department Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. Vendors must be able to supply generic AB rated pharmaceuticals from multiple sources to decrease the risk of supply problems. The continued supply of pharmaceuticals in patient care is critical and “shortages” can create liability problems. Special government pricing programs, such as Public Health Services and 340B Drug Pricing Program (PHS/340B pricing) can change acquisition cost every three months but often provides the opportunity to purchase needed items at a very low cost for limited periods of time.
