Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Upper Arlington’s Parks & Recreation Department and Community Affairs Office are seeking proposals for graphic design assistance in the implementation of a new visual brand for the Parks & Recreation Department’s programming guide – THE ACTIVITY GUIDE – and the creation of various promotions templates for the department’s special events. The Parks & Recreation Department’s new brand has been developed as part of preparations for an Upper Arlington Community Center. The department will be launching its new brand effective with the Spring/Summer 2023 ACTIVITY GUIDE, which will be distributed to the community in early March. Due to the extent of the transition across multiple platforms and recognizing the level of additional graphic design work necessary to develop the new concept for the ACTIVITY GUIDE in particular, we are seeking the assistance of a professional graphic design consultant. The ultimate intent is for the Community Affairs team to be able to produce the Parks & Recreation Department’s print and promotional pieces in-house. The successful graphic designer or graphic design team must: Recommend a project schedule (to include a schedule for reviewing concepts, number of meetings, approval process, etc.) built around the target completion dates provided under the “Scope and Timeline of Work” Provide an initial pricing estimate for each component outlined under “Scope and Timeline of Work” and/or an hourly rate and estimate of time required for each component Be able to demonstrate their ability to interpret and apply the brand guidelines that have already been developed, staying true to the original design concepts Be proficient in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite on the Macintosh platform, with Indesign as the preferred software for the majority of the resulting design collateral Be prepared to provide “how to” guidelines for any design elements created in Photoshop or Illustrator Provide examples of similar design work Provide up to three references from agencies for whom similar work has been performed
