Specifications include, but are not limited to: A.Extension Services.The Ohio grape and wine industry is comprised of more than 160 licensed wineries and 50 vineyards. The industry,ranked 8th in the country, has seen tremendous growth in the number of wineries and vineyards in the past five yearswith the industry, nearly doubling in the number of wineries since 2006. The rapid growth in the number of newwineries and vineyards has led to the establishment of many wine and grape enterprises with limited skills andexperience in winemaking and grape growing. In order for Ohio s grape and wine industry to remain competitiveregionally, nationally and internationally, these limited skills need to be addressedThe awarded Contractor shall create and maintain an educational program through multiple avenues of delivery forreaching the needs of existing growers, new growers along with existing and new wineries. Program shall bedesigned to meet the varying levels of skills and knowledge of the industry members.Extension plan shall include, at a minimum,1.Plan to evaluate current status of industry, including proposed methods of reaching members and frequency (i.e.newsletter, site visits, workshops, etc..2.Plan to foster communication between industry and researchers on topics and presenters for industry meetings,field days and, special events.3.Assist in dissemination of research findings through organized events such as workshops, wine forums, as wellas vineyard and winery consultations4.Co-coordinate, with OGIC, Ohio Quality Wine (OQW) evaluations/submissions, including sensory involvementand chemical analysis, as well as attending OGIC meetings. (maximum of 4 submissions per year.)5.Communicate fundamental knowledge and production principles and practices:a)Viticulture principles & practicesb)Enology principles & practices6.Create and disseminate new producer information for wine growers and wine makers
