NASA/Glenn Research Center (GRC) has a requirement for the restoration of a Sunpower 12 kW Stirling PCU to operable condition and modify it to a dual-opposed electrically heated configuration, fabricate a test setup that will allow for the operation and performance testing of the PCU, conduct performance verification testing, and return the repaired PCU along with the test support hardware necessary to operate it to NASA for further testing and development.
NASA GRC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the services from Sunpower under FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) when only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Kevin Carroll (Kevin.m.Carroll@nasa.gov) not later than 5:00 PM EST on July 1, 2024. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
