Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1A. System must be compatible with ground speed oriented spreader control system being used by the Ohio Department of Transportation. 2A. Tank’s center of gravity must be placed, when fully loaded with material, over the middle or toward the front of the bed (towards back of cab). 3A. System shall operate between the speeds of 3 and 50 mph. Systems must have a minimum capability of being used in the following beds: 3Aa. 1000-1099 gal. sys – 2743 mm (9’) 3Ab. 1100-1299 gal. sys – 3353 mm (11’) 3Ac. 1300-1799 gal. sys – 3962 mm (13’) 4A. 3Ad. 1800-2600 gal. sys – 4572 mm (15’) 5A. All systems must be capable of being inserted into any of our existing or new class 8 dump trucks. 6A. System will be capable of independently applying material to the trucks travel lane, the lane to its left, and the lane to its right or any combination of the three at any time. 7A. All components used will be proven resistant to standard liquid de-icer/anti-icer. 8A. All PVC will be schedule 80. Glass filled polyethylene will be used in lieu of PVC where applicable. 9A. All metal used in plumbing will be stainless steel or brass. B. Liquid Calcium Tanks: 1B. Tanks will be a mobile, longitudinal tank constructed of High Density Polyethylene with UV stabilization. Tanks will be between the following rated capacities: 2Ba: 1000 – 1199 Gallons 2Bb: 1200 – 1399 Gallons 2Bc: 1600 – 1799 Gallons 2Bd: 1800 – 1999 Gallons 2B. 2Be: 2400 – 2700 Gallons 3B. Tank will have molded liquid level calibrations located on rear end of the tank. 4B. Tank opening will be located on top of the tank. It will be a vented cap with a lanyard, 406.4mm (16”) minimum diameter. 5B. Tank will contain a 50.8 mm (2”) stainless steel outlet and a 50.8 mm (2”) outlet valve. 6B. Tank will contain a baffle system. This may be accomplished through the use of a baffle system (i.e. baffle ball, surge buster, etc.). This may also be accomplished through the integration of multiple small tanks connected together to for a large capacity system. C. Hydraulic Motor and Fluid Pump: 1C. Hydraulic motor will be an internal gear gerotor type with packing seal and 5/8” NPT ports. 2C. Centrifugal pump, Hypro 9306 or approved equal 3C. 2” NPT inlet and 1-1/2” NPT outlet ports 4C. Pump/motor coupling must be 416 stainless steel, System must be sufficiently covered to protect against injury during operation. D. Spray Bar 1D. Spray bar assembly will be composed of 1-½” schedule 80 PVC tubing. 2D. All spray bars will be mounted in such a way that they may be varied in height a minimum of 10”, regardless of the amount of sprayers in the setup.
