This project is for the modification of the pump structure at Middle Harbor within East Harbor State Park (see Figure 1). The contractor shall: Build a coffer dam (approximately 25’ in length) to isolate the pump structure from the water within Middle Harbor. Middle Harbor is currently pumped down. Pump water out to expose the whole pump structure, Weld plates (approximately 6” wide x 15’ tall) on each side of the structure to create a water impermeable seal on the edge of the structure, Coordinate timing of work with ODNR staff so that staff can schedule a vacuum truck to be on site to remove silt from within the pump structure while it is dry, Remove the coffer dam when the project is completed, Restore the surface of the dike and gravel pad to its pre-construction condition The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that their welded plates are watertight, and do not leak. A proposed staging area for material stockpiling is shown in Figure 2. Additional staging areas may be available to the contractor if approved by the Area Representative. Contractor bids shall submit bids which itemize the following costs: mobilization, material, & labor.
