The City of Vandalia is requesting proposals from qualified, certified physicians to serve as the Medical Director for the Division of Fire. The Medical Director will be responsible for the following services: a. Conduct at least two (2) EMS training sessions annually (lecture and/or practical), coordinated with the EMS Captain. b. Participate in the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) process by reviewing high-acuity EMS calls or those specifically referred by EMS supervisory staff. c. Provide medical oversight and guidance consistent with the Division’s customer service philosophy. d. Participate, upon request, in the annual EMS protocol cognitive and psychomotor skills testing. e. Offer expert input in the development and implementation of special or amended EMS protocols not covered under the Greater Miami Valley EMS protocols. f. Provide oversight and consultation for the Division’s 911 Communications Center, particularly regarding call evaluation and EMS pre-arrival instructions.
