Project Information: The proposed construction will include single-story, slab-on-grade building measuring approximately 2,000 square feet in plan area. The improvements include construction of a storm water detention basin at the north part of the site and measures approximately 18,500 square feet in plan area and about 10 feet in depth. The golf course improvement also includes a new driving range located between two new practice tee areas, and cart parking area with 26 golfcart spaces • Soil Findings: The exploration included eight (8) soil borings. The fill materials encountered at test boring locations B-01, B-03 and B-04 extended to the depths of about 3 to 6 feet below surface grades. The underlying the fill soils, natural soil generally consisted of firm to very stiff (CL) LEAN CLAY with SAND and underlain by stiff to very hard (CL-ML) SILTY CLAY TILL. SHALE and SANDSTONE Bedrock was encountered at boring locations B-01, B-02, B-03, B-07 and B-08 between the depths of about 5 to 23½ feet below surface grades. • Building Foundation: The proposed building can be supported using conventional shallow foundations consisting of column and/or strip footings bearing within competent natural soil and/or bearing on Engineered Fill or lean concrete backfill overlying competent natural soil. The foundations can be designed for a maximum allowable soil bearing pressure of 2,500 pounds per square foot (psf).
