Arena Panels • Basis of design is the NHL Approved system: Athletica Sport Systems Inc. CrystaPlex® Series 6A Aluminum Prefabricated Dasher Board System complete with Seamless Acrylic Shielding. • New perimeter dasher board panels to be built for Seamless Shielding installation. Frame • Arena panels shall be factory prefabricated in demountable sections. The design of all panels whether straight, curved or in which a gate is located shall be similar. Each panel shall be made of channels/tubes assembled into aluminum frames using welding by certified welders. Aluminum to be mill finished. Frames shall allow for fastening of the HDPE facing and anchoring at base. Ensure flush mating of the HDPE facing at arena panel joints. • 6” Wide welded aluminum construction is structural aluminum and 42” high. Typical 96” length for straights • Frames are constructed with opposing ‘C’ channel base. • New frames provided for entire rink (including new return walls and back walls for boxes. Back walls to be shorter than main walls to accommodate seating. (Site verification required.) Anchors • Re-use existing anchor bolts attached to the floor. Care must be taken to not damage existing glycolsystem. X‐ray or other GPR is required for any new anchoring / slab drilling. Board Cladding • HDPE high impact white polyethylene shall be ½” thick. Natural white is not acceptable. White’s to match within manufacturer’s tolerances to be approved by Miami University. • HDPE INLAID kick plate shall be 8” high and ½” thick, flush with cladding. Color for the kick plate is to be Yellow. • Supply and install NHL Approved 1” thick SoftCap® safety cap rail on ice side of shielding. .750” thick polyethylene cap rail on spectator side of shielding routed to 3/8” radius. Cap rail on non- ice side to be 3/4” HDPE. Color for the cap rail is to be Red. • Full perimeter – full height Quick Release Backer (Magnetic systems are not acceptable) and Gap Closure. • Official line markings, ½” x 12” red and blue, and 2” red goal lines shall be carried vertically from the ice to the bottom of the cap rail. Line markings to be in accordance with NCAA / NHL League Guidelines. • Board cladding is to be applied with ¼” – 20 Philips flat head color matched screws. Bottom row of fasteners in kick plate must be 316 stainless steel and top row to be attached with either high low type screws or attached with a ¼” – 20 machine screws and a wing nut. • Full White 1/2” thick HDPE perimeter backing with gap closure. Thresholds • All player/penalty and access gates shall be equipped with 1” thick natural HDPE skate threshold. The width shall be enough to cover the entire width of the door openings. • Ice resurface machine gates shall be equipped with 1‐1/2” thick natural HDPE threshold. The width shall be enough to cover the entire width of the door openings. • All threshold fasteners to be counter‐sunk ½” deep.
