Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to expand community outreach to Ohio families with loved ones who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) whose primarily language is Spanish. Connecting families with Ohio’s services incorporates outreach that includes the development of culturally and linguistically appropriate resources, general system navigation and one-on-one support, and fostering connections to build community. Goals of the Hispanic/Latino Family Outreach project include: • Families whose primary language is Spanish, and community organizations supporting Spanish-speaking communities, will have culturally and linguistically appropriate resources and presentations to facilitate understanding of Ohio’s system of supports for people with developmental disabilities, including eligibility information and the process for determining eligibility. • Families whose primary language is Spanish will have access to culturally and linguistically appropriate technical support for guidance and information. • Families whose primary language is Spanish will build personal supportive relationships with other families and have an opportunity to build community. • Families will be connected to local county boards for eligibility determination and provision of eligible services and supports provided at the county level.
