Jones Tower is a 13-floor residence hall located on North Campus. The building includes a 14th floor mechanical level and 15th floor elevator machine room. It features 3 traction elevators that this project seeks to modernize. Elevators One and Two are a 14 stop and Elevator Three is 15 stop, all are 2500lb drive traction passenger elevators, last updated in 1999. The elevators are primarily used for student travel. Only one elevator at a time is to be offline during construction. The Project is intended to follow applicable elevator modernization requirements that can be referenced in the University Building Design Standards located on OSU FDC’s vendor resources page (https://fod.osu.edu/resources). The scope of work will replace the controller, door operator, panel and cab fronts, hall stations, traveling cable, duct and hoist way wiring (as needed), car top box, governor and compensation rope, traction machine, car door panels and fronts, rope break, phone/video monitoring system, Panachrome door reopening device, car and counterweight roller guides. As well as all associated electrical and fire alarm requirements, split system unit, temperature controls and new sump pumps. There will also be some miscellaneous finish work.
