Hocking Hills State Park requires portable restrooms with cleaning services and pit latrine cleaning services. Specifications/Scope of Work. The park must have restrooms during a power outage that do not require power. These portable restroom rentals must include cleaning services. The portable restroom count goes from 7 in the main season and down in the winter to 4. The porta johns are to be serviced three times a week in the summer months (March through November), and twice in the winter months (December through Febuary). If water needs to be added after they have been pumped, that will need to be done also, along with any chemicals that need to be added to keep the smelll at a minimum. The second part of the contract is that the park contains many latrines that are park owned, that need pumped periodically. The park curently has 24 pit latrines. Many of the latrines are different in how they will need to be pumped. Some have connections and some just have lids, example photos below. Some are behind locked gates and will reqire coordinating with park staff to get to the latrines. An average pumping for the latrines is about two times a year, but some are closer to five times depending on their location. At other times, that section of the park is closed in the winter and will not be required to be pumped. Trash will need to be removed from the latrines from time to time in order to maintain the capacity of the pits. The park’s wastewater plant will also need to be pumped on an as needed basis. Service will be conducted during normal business hours- Monday thru Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
