Specifications include, but are not limited to: OhioMHAS values the guidance from SAMHSA that supports implementation or expansion of evidence based services, including the NIMH Coordinated Specialty Care model and similar models, for persons who experience FEP. The funded projects are required to be person-centered, be delivered by a multi-disciplinary team, and be able to work with the youth and young adults for up to two years. Projects are also required to enable services to be initiated at onset for the target population and to design referral, recruitment and community education components to reduce treatment delays. Projects should also include employment and education services, family involvement and comprehensive integrated care that will offer the best long-term outcomes for these individuals. Projects must demonstrate local and regional need by sharing information and data that substantiate service gaps for persons ages 15-25 with FEP. Use of national, regional, and local data is encouraged to demonstrate the need. Including other organizational data (e.g. universities, colleges, private hospitals, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations) provides a systematic perspective.
