Engineered wood fiber surfacing (quantity to be determined by bidder) and installation for multiple playgrounds in three (3) City Parks (see attached bid sheet for park/playground locations) to meet the following specifications: Material to be free of soil, leaves, contaminants and non-woody debris; Density range of 18 lbs. – 26 lbs. per cubic foot; Wood pieces randomly sized with length approximately 8 – 10 times width; Meets or exceeds Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines/requirements for playground surfacing when installed properly (must supply copy of testing specifications); Delivered within 20 working days of notice to proceed to Parks in Upper Arlington unless otherwise specified on the bid worksheet. Shipments shall not exceed 50 cubic yards per load. Contractor shall provide at least 3 working days’ notice prior to commencement of work; Blown or spread into bordered playground space to provide a uniform safety surface; material outside playground borders and on equipment to be cleaned up; Installation must be to the top of playground plastic or wooden borders or concrete curbs and mulch depth lines as marked on all structural play structure poles; or to the top of borders/ curbs and level throughout in the absence of depth lines. NOTE: with 3 exceptions. Bid worksheet indicates areas outside of traditional play at Northwest Kiwanis, Fancyburg and Northam Park and details and specified depth are provided on the accompanying map and bid worksheet. These areas exist outside of the playground play. Engineered wood fiber is to be added in at a depth as indicated.
