• Design new BAF system to be retrofitted into each of the eight (8) existing aeration tanks in the LMWWTP secondary treatment building. New BAF system consists of the following: o Filter media to fill each new filter cell (6 filter cells per aeration tank). o Filter retainer blocks and support system to contain the filter media within each cell. o Aeration piping headers within each filter cell to deliver process air and backwash scouring air to the filter media. o BAF influent, backwash, and process and scour air process control valves, actuators, and devices within each of the eight (8) new BAF piping galleries. o Configuration of instrumentation and controls for BAF process control valve actuators and devices. • Coordinate design of the new BAF system with the MSD EPS Project Team’s design of related equipment and building systems, including, but not limited to: o BAF influent, effluent, process air, and backwash drain piping. o BAF effluent and backwash drain pumps. o BAF filter cell partitions. o BAF filter cell influent and effluent channels and openings.
