The Medina County Sanitary Engineers (MCSE) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from interested consulting firms for the professional design services described herein. The MCSE currently maintains multiple cast iron water mains along Chippewa Road, between Lake Road and Ryan Road as well as Lake Road, between Chippewa Road and Briarwood Boulevard. These mains, located on both sides of the roadway, include 12-inch, 8-inch, and 6-inch lines. The objective of this project is to replace and consolidate the existing cast iron mains with a 12-inch PVC water main. The project limits will include work within the CSX Transportation, Inc Right of Way Limits, and the consulting firm will be responsible for obtaining CSX permits. Additionally, the project includes extending the water main approximately 700 linear feet west of the Lake Road and Chippewa Road intersection to connect with an existing 6-inch line. Within this intersection is a 10” culvert and this crossing will need to be approved and coordinated with the Medina County Engineer. In some areas, the new main may need to be installed in the same location as the existing one, which could require temporary water service during construction. The MCSE is seeking qualified engineering firms to provide professional design services in the following categories: Surveying, Permitting, Design, Contract Documents and Specifications, Construction Estimate, Bid Process, Bid Analysis, and Construction Administration.
