BASIC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:1A.Currently approved systems: Component Technology Storm Guard Series, Force America5100 Series and 6100 Series, Pengwyn 485 Series. Vendors requesting approval for asystem other than those listed above must contact the Office of Equipment Management toinitiate the pre-approval process2A.Hydraulic pump shall be supplied with the control system. Pump will be capable of beingmounted by driveshaft to the engine crankshaft or by PTO to the transmission3A.Hydraulic pump and system must be capable of controlling/operating all the hydraulicfunctions simultaneously4A.Double acting dump body, currently operated by the Ohio Department of Transportation,with an empty bed cycle of approximately 60 seconds @ 1,500 RPM5A.Tailgate spreader or hopper spreader with hydraulic powered auger and spinner, currentlyoperated by the Ohio Department of Transportation6A.Eleven or twelve foot power reversible snowplow, currently operated by the OhioDepartment of Transportation7A.System shall be ground speed oriented8A.System will have adjustable pressure relief valve(s) capable of appropriately protecting allthe system's circuits and components being used in each circuit9A.System shall be capable of providing up to 15 GPM to the auger circuit10A.System shall be capable of providing up to 7 GPM to the spinner circuit11A.System shall be capable of providing up to 15 GPM to the wetting (de-icing) circuit or dualanti-icing (15 GPM) and wetting (7 GPM) circuits12A.Two speed (low high) dump body lowering or feathering dump body control. If hand lever isused, lever must include a safety lock-out13A.Capability of running hydraulic tools off existing system circuits14A.The system shall be arranged so that all electrical wiring shall be inside the truck cab or useweatherproof wiring and connectors if outside of the truck cab. Outside of the cab systemmust be housed in a stainless steel or powder-coated carbon steel enclosure. All cablesshould be of sufficient length to be capable of being installed on any ODOT snow plowtruck.15A.Distance measuring capability. Measurements may be in feet or miles16A.Control system setting lockout by key or a security code17A.No hydraulic hoses in the cab of the truck18A.Hydraulic system will use 37 degree JIC fittings19A.The hydraulic system s spreader controls will be lighted for night operation20A.Control box mounting stand. All brackets, mounts and hardware will be supplied to installthe hydraulic system's in-cab controls in ODOT's current chassis currently bid on ODOTcurrent Contract DOT02321A.Exterior mounting bracket. All brackets, mounts, covers and hardware will be supplied toinstall the hydraulic system's exterior controls in ODOT's current chassis currently bid onODOT current Contract DOT023 and directly mounted to ODOT's auxillary frame mounts22A.Title 47 of the code of Federal Regulations prohibits the central hydraulic systems frominterfering with the mobile two way radio operations
