The Board of Miami County Commissioners will be receiving (per acre) sealed bids for land rent of the County’s County Home Farm and Neal Farm. The County Home Farm is located on Troy-Sidney Road, Troy, Ohio, in Staunton Township. Tillable acres are measured at 62.87 acres. The Neal Farm is located on Lytle Road, Troy, Ohio, in Concord Township. Tillable acres are measured at 44.53 acres. Bids will be received in the Commissioners’ Office, 201 W. Main Street, Troy, Ohio 45373 (Safety Building) until 1:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at which time bids will be opened. Bids must be submitted in a SEALED envelope and marked “Farm Bid”. ******************************* The contract will be for a three year period, with the option of two (2) – one year renewals, upon consent of both parties. Either party will have the right to void the contract with a thirty day written notice. Land rent is to be paid twice per year. First payment is due on April 1st and second on December 1 st. All Federal government farm program payments will be paid to the Lessee. The Lessee will be expected to farm this land in a husbandry manner, with proper crop rotation. Prior to signing the contract the county will take soil samples. At the end of the contract the Lessee will pull samples with the necessary nutrients added to bring the soil back to the beginning samples, if needed. Lessee must maintain all established waterways and buffer strips (if applicable).
