The Contractor is responsible for all repairs to sewers, including sanitary and storm laterals and curb drains, damaged by the Contractor. In excavations that were marked in accordance with OUPS requirements and/or mapped in Cityworks, the Contractor shall be responsible for the labor and material required to make the repair. There is a high likelihood that the Contractor will encounter unmarked sewer laterals and other unmarked utilities during the course of the Work. Reasonable care shall be taken when proceeding with any excavation. When reasonable care has been taken, unmarked sewers damaged by the Contractor shall be repaired at a cost paid for by the City. The sewer shall be repaired with municipality approved sewer pipe and couplings. Curb drains will generally never be marked by OUPS and should be assumed to exist. The Contractor must use the line items for Materials and Spare Parts, Miscellaneous Crew Hours, and/or Specialized Labor and Equipment and submit receipts for each in order to be reimbursed for this item.
