Specifications include, but are not limited to: Seeking a total of three trainings. Two (2) refugee resettlement simulation-style workshops to provide a guided, interactive walk-through of some of the challenges refugees can face within their first 90 days in the United States. One (1) group training session facilitating education about refugee and immigrant experiences, specifically addressing the healthcare setting. Each session will have ~ 75 participants. The goal for all sessions is for staff to learn how to make Columbus Public Health services more welcoming and accessible for refugee and immigrant clients. The focus of the two (2) refugee resettlement simulation-style workshops should be on learning the refugee resettlement process as refugees experience it upon arrival in the United States; learning about the various bureaucratic, financial, medical, and practical requirements to which newly-arrived refugees must adhere, learning about roles that refugee resettlement agencies, and other social services providers play in a newly-arriving refugee’s welcome and integration journey; have an opportunity to speak with and ask questions of refugee resettlement staff about the realities of their work in Central Ohio. Simulation-style workshops must be in-person, experiential learning sessions.
