Scope of Work: Provide and install up to one hundred, sixty (160) cubic yards of ADA compliant wood fiber playground mulch to top off the following City playground areas: Horseshoe Park (multiple areas), Thornton Park, Chelton Park, Menlo Tot Lot, Southerly Park-Fitness Stations, Sussex (5 areas) and Gridley Park. Project Specifications: 1. The contractor is to provide the equipment and materials necessary to install up to one hundred sixty (160) cubic yards of ADA compliant wood fiber mulch as a top off at the above mentioned playground locations. 2. Written documentation from the manufacturer of the fiber mulch that the product provided is in compliance with ASTM Standard F 2075 – Engineered Wood Fiber Safety Surfacing, must accompany the quotation. 3. The Parks and Facilities Coordinator is to be informed of the installation schedule within 5 days of first scheduled delivery. 4. Mulch is to be distributed in an even, level layer over all playground areas. 5. On day of delivery, installation MUST begin by 7:30am or earlier at Sussex Playground so as not to conflict with school activities. The order of mulch delivery at remaining playgrounds is at the discretion of the contractor. 6. Specific playground mulch area measurements are the responsibility of the contractor. 7. The contractor is to cordon off work areas with caution tape or other means necessary to restrict pedestrian trespass while work is in progress. 8. The contractor is responsible for all property damage, including, but not limited to: fencing, playground equipment, sidewalks, landscaping, etc. 9. Contractors are highly encouraged to visit and examine sites prior to completing the request for quote. 10. The City of Shaker Heights retains the right to re-bid, cancel the project, and select all or any portion of this RFQ. 11. Billing – copies of receipts verifying tonnage must accompany the final bill. 12. Saturday work must receive the advanced approval of the Project Manager.
