ODOT seeks to contract with a vendor with the capacity, experience, and resources to create the surveyor e-learning training. ODOT has employed land surveyors since the agency was established. The growing shortage of land surveyors has created a critical bottleneck in construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects, leading to delays, and increased costs. With this Request for Proposal (RFP), ODOT is seeking to hire a consultant to create an e-learning series to introduce the subject group to a career in land surveying. The following topics are expected to be included: boundary law, geodesy, mapping and cartography, measurement, and instrumentation (including GPS and total stations), land development principles, construction surveying, and the use of CAD and GIS software. The Consultant who is hired under this RFP must identify and have a licensed surveyor on the team as the subject matter expert to develop the curriculum.
