Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services and perform all operations necessary to furnish to the City Administrator a complete color audiovideo DVD record of the tree removal/stump grinding vicinity. This record shall include, but not be limited to, all audio-video DVDs, storage cases, video logs, and indexes. The purpose of this coverage shall be to accurately document the preremoval/stump grinding conditions and vicinity. The video DVD documentation shall be done by a responsible commercial firm known to be skilled and regularly engaged in the business of pre-removal/stump grinding color audio-video DVD documentation. The firm shall furnish such information as the City Administrator deem necessary to determine the ability of that firm to perform the work in accordance with the contract specifications. The color audio-video recording delivered to the City Administrator shall be on a high quality DVD format and submitted two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of tree removal and/or stump grinding. Removal Only trees marked and listed as such by the City of Shaker Heights are to be removed. No tree or trunk shall be felled onto pavement. The work sites are to be left equal to, or cleaner than, pre-work conditions. Tree parts dropped or lowered from trees are to be kept off private property unless written permission has been obtained from the property owner. Wood Products (including stump grindings) All wood products and debris, including debris from stump grinding piles, are the property of the contractor and shall be removed by the contractor, hauled out of the City and disposed of in a manner that will prevent the spread of disease. The stumps and surface roots of all trees removed shall be ground out to a minimum depth of 24 inches. Locations where stumps are ground will be replanted. Regrinding of stumps may be needed if depth is not sufficient for tree planting. Tree roots near sidewalks/curbs must be removed either manually (Axe) or mechanically (chain saw/stump grinder).Post removal site must be level to existing tree lawn. Upon completion of removal and stump grindings, restoration (seed, soil & straw) will take place. Damages Damage done by the contractor to any person or property—public or private—are the sole responsibilities of the contractor, and are to be repaired, or compensated for, by the contractor to the satisfaction of both the injured party and the City of Shaker Heights, at no cost to the City.
