The intent of this project is to provide construction services to the City of Shaker Heights for the pavement repair line items shown in the bid form for one calendar (1) year (2025-2026) with the City of Shaker Heights having the option to renew for two (2) additional years (2026-2027) & (2027-2028) from the Issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This is a requirements contract for a 12-month period beginning upon award and the execution of the contract and shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder as soon as practicable after the opening of bids, subject to the reservation of the preceding paragraph and the bidder to whom an award is made must enter into a contract with the City of Shaker Heights within TEN (10) days after notification of award. As the bid specifications are intended to result in a requirements contract, the quantities listed herein are approximate only and represent the current estimate by the City. When needed the Public Works Director will contact the Contractor to provide pavement repair services above CWD water main repairs at various locations in the city. Note: Prices quoted will be utilized until the end of the contract. 14 The Contractor shall be required to mobilize within four (4) working days of notice to perform the pavement repairs. The work generally consists of pavement repairs (asphalt over concrete, concrete and/or full depth asphalt) above water main repair areas completed by the Cleveland Water Department (CWD). The pavement repair areas will vary in size and CWD will leave stone in the excavated area up to the level of the surrounding pavement. This work includes removal of the stone to the depth of the pavement, subgrade compaction, furnish and install ODOT 304 premium backfill as required after subgrade compaction, installation of new pavement to match the existing thickness and composition, installation of new concrete curbs if damaged by the CWD repair and replacement of the curb underdrains as required if they were also damaged by the water main repair. The City of Shaker Heights will attempt to group a minimum of three areas together to be repaired before requiring the contractor to come out. Drainage The Contractor shall provide and maintain ample means and devices with which to promptly remove and properly dispose of all water entering the construction site when construction is in process and shall keep said site dry until the construction is completed
