To provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials and expertise required to perform tree planting work in the City of Upper Arlington, Ohio as specified herein. Since the work requires specialized expertise, it is to be performed by a company which derives the majority of its annual income from arboricultural or landscape work, and whose employees are trained and skilled in all phases of tree planting. Work performance history and references may be required by the City. This contract is for labor only: City to provide plant material. Trees are purchased from various nurseries, and the City does not control digging and balling techniques. Work outlined below and on attached bidsheet: Item #1 – Spring Planting. Unit requested is price per 1.5-inch caliper tree and 2inch caliper tree. It is anticipated that a total number of 1.5-inch caliper trees to be planted will be between 250 and 300. A final list will be supplied to the contractor upon award. Note attached sample list is provided from last season as an EXAMPLE ONLY and is not the list for this contract. A total amount will be specified upon award based on the unit price. Item #2 – Fall Planting. Unit requested is price per 1.5-inch caliper tree and 2-inch caliper tree. It is anticipated that a total number of 1.5-inch caliper trees to be planted will be between 250 and 300. A final list will be supplied to the contractor awarded at the beginning of the fall planting season. Note attached sample list is provided from a previous season as an EXAMPLE ONLY and is not the list for this contract. A total amount will be specified upon award based on the unit price. Item #3 – Irrigation and Downspout Repair. Unit price requested is per linear foot for repair of both downspout and irrigation line. A $1,000 maximum total allowance for repairs will be included in this contract. Item #4 – Staking. Unit price requested is per tree to stake. A $2,500 maximum total allowance for staking will be included in this contract.
