The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Roche Diagnostics for Roche MagNaPure 96 . The Roche MagNA Pure 96 is a benchtop automated nucleic acid extraction instrument that has a relatively small footprint (53.9” x 31.5” x 39.4”) that can process up to 96 reactions per run. This instrument utilizes magnetic bead technology (instead of centrifugation) and has an on-board UV lamp; both of these considerations are required to minimize cross-contaminations during and between runs. Roche is the only manufacturer that has software pre-programmed with dedicated purification protocols for the MagNa Pure 96 DNA and Viral nucleic acid small volume kit. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1).. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
