Specifications include, but are not limited to: Rail Replacement- Contractor is to remove existing 115RE rails on the identified tracks and install approximately 2,200 track feet of 115RE rail. Work to be completed using Fifty-five (55), 80’ lengths of 115RE, High Strength rail. 80' sticks will need to be flash butt welded into continuously welded rail with approximately 55 welds into (CWR) Install approximately 2,200 (5½ inch) base tie plates. Install Track Standard 7200 (5/8" X 6") spikes. Install 2,200 (5½ inch)" base drive-on anchors. Wood Tie Renewal - Contractor is to install approximately 1,100 standard wood cross ties (8’-6” long). Work will include removal of old ties and excavation of a minimum of 6” below bottom of tie, installation of 6” of new AREMA #3 granite ballast below bottom of tie and surfacing / lining of tracks. Note: Contractor is to maintain the existing top-of-rail elevation for finished construction
