This requirement is to provide both academic and vocational curriculum-based training to prisoners. The requirement will be to have all vocational training provided by a qualified instructor from an institution of higher learning, using curriculum-based training tailored specifically to incarcerated population, and providing documentation of completed labor hours, transferable continuing education units, and a nationally recognized certification upon successful completion of each course. The candidate must meet the following requirements: The contractor shall be accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges WASC for adult education. The contractor shall be required to provide vocational instructors that possess a California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education CTE Teaching Credential. Each must be a subject matter expert SME with 5 or more years experience in the chosen field, providing curriculum-based training from an educational institution of higher learning. Successfully pass National Crime Information Center NCIC background check coordinated through the Brig Operations Department. Successfully pass Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and Standards of Conduct training with the Brig Training Officer.
