The scope of the Project includes building a permanent watertight bulkhead or flood wall between the building and the river where tailrace exits building. Also incorporate a one-way valve(s) or similar so water can flow out during normal non-flood conditions. Work to include: Installation of dewatering pump on the protected (building) side to remove leakage during floods, as well as instrumentation to automate one way valves and pump, and remotely monitor water levels during flood conditions. Manuals with maintenance schedule and drawings/documentation. Add Alt Item: Determine viability of repair or re-lining of the limestone tailrace channel at exterior. This should include preliminary cost estimate at 50% design stage. Limestone wall will require Historic Preservation Consultant. Interaction with Xcel will be required on exterior stone walls. This Project will not follow traditional design basic services. We are requesting 50% CDs and 100% CDs. At 50% we will require a cost estimate and University Plan Review following standard practices.
